Top questions on commission work

WHEN TO COMMISSION AN ARTIST?

You love a piece of work but it is much too big for your interior? You like the colours of a work already sold and you would like a work in the same style? Maybe you even want to have a portrait of someone you love by an artist whose style you like? There is not only one good reason to want a work on commission and we make sure to find the right artist for you.

HOW MUCH IS THE PRICE OF A COMMISSION ART PIECE?

The price depends on different factors such as the selected artist, the material being used, the size and the style (for example abstract, portrait, pop art). At KAWKAB we have a huge community of international artists who will surely fit to your requirements and exceed the quality you expect.

HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE?

The timeline depends on the requested art piece and the availability of the selected artist. We have to consider for example the size, the style and materials being used and this differs from each art piece. Before we start to commission an artist, we will provide you with a realistic timeline that we always meet.

WHAT ARE THE PAYMENT TERMS?

Before we commission an artist, we ask for 50% down payment before starting the work and for 50% after completion of the work and before shipment. If you are not happy with the result, we will refund you the money and return the art piece free of charge.

IS THE PRICE MORE EXPENSIVE THAN ALREADY EXISTING ART?

Each artist has their own price structure. Commission an artist is not more expensive than his already existing art.

CAN I SEE THE PORTFOLIO OF THE ARTIST?

You might already have fallen in love with a particular artist’s style, which inspired you to commission a piece. We make sure to send you the full portfolio of the artist and give the artist a detailed briefing about your art vision. Our personal advisory session will also include that we showcase you different other artists after understanding your style, budget, and timeline you might fall in love with.

DO YOU SHIP INTERNATIONALLY?

Yes, our artists live around the world and are happy to ship their pieces internationally.

CAN I SEE THE PROCESS?

We make sure to send you frequent updates and keep you posted on the agreed timeline. You have time for reviews and revisions to make sure we create the art piece you envisioned.

WHAT MATERIAL DO YOU USE?

Each artist works with different materials. From acrylic to resin, metal and wood or fabric, there are no limits to creativity and creation.

DO I SPEAK TO THE ARTIST DIRECTLY?

No, KAWKAB takes cares of the briefing sessions with the artist and overlook the whole process. By having one communication channel with the artist we make sure the whole process is smooth. KAWKAB will have different calls with you to understand your needs and requirements and make sure we deliver outstanding art pieces.

DO I HAVE TO PROVIDE A REFERENCE PICTURE?

It depends on the style of art you want to commission. For portrait art we need a high quality picture of the people, for abstract art we can guide you and advise you what type would fit into your place. We will discuss these details in our briefing session together to make sure we meet your needs and requirements.
